Visit to the Parkway Cinema, Barnsley – 17th October 2025

Members enjoyed a warm Northern welcome from Rob Younger and his team at the Parkway Cinema, Barnsley. As well as Rob giving us the history of the cinema with detailed specifications, we enjoyed a 70mm demonstration with a reel from “My Fair Lady” with 6 track magnetic sound, 35mm reel to reel changeovers with “Empire of Light”, plus a glorious nostalgic advert and trailer reel on celluloid from the 60s, 70s and 80s. The doors were open to the projection rooms with tea, coffee and chat in abundance
